London, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Austria Abbas Baqerpour Ardakani, in a meeting with Reinhold Lopatka, the chairman of the European Affairs Committee and deputy chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Austrian Parliament, discussed issues of mutual interests.

The Iranian diplomat expressed his concern regarding some measures related to human rights and at the same time voiced Tehran's readiness for interactive and bilateral dialogue in a professional context and away from dual and selective standards.

He added that Western countries have recently adopted non-constructive and interventionist stances towards Iran's internal affairs and imposed sanctions under the pretext of human rights issues and baseless claims of Iran's military participation with Russia in the Ukraine war.

Earlier, Baqerpour had in a Twitter message criticized the double standard of the West regarding human rights issues and said that this category has become a tool in Europe's political toolbox.
