Mashad, IRNA - Iranian president's special envoy for Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi said on Wednesday that connecting the economic infrastructure between Iran and Afghanistan is the necessity of restoring and governing civilizational, religious, and cultural relations between the two states.

In a joint meeting with Afghan economic activists in Mashad city, Khorasan Razavi Province on Wednesday evening, Kazemi Qomi said that connecting the economic infrastructure between Iran and Afghanistan is the necessity of restoring and governing civilizational, religious, and cultural relations between the two states.

Referring to the joint economic activities between the two countries, he added that joint activities can be conducted in this regard due to Afghanistan's transit access to Central Asia.

Pointing to the significance of the Khaf-Herat railway in enhancing economic ties between the two countries, Kazemi Qomi underlined that a consortium should be formed to resume the Khaf-Herat railway activities.
