Bnadar Abbas, IRNA - A minor earthquake shook the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Khamir early on Saturday.

The quake, measured 4.0 on Richter scale, began on 00:20 am local time and was felt in parts of the port city which is located to the west of the Iranian province of Hormozgan on the Persian Gulf coast.

University of Tehran’s Institute of Geophysics put the depth of the earthquake at 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) and said its epicenter was 25 kilometers from Bandar Khamir.

No casualties have been reported so far from the earthquake.
