Tehran, IRNA – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)’s Officer in Charge in Iran, Inna Gladkova, praised Iran's performance in hosting foreign refugees, especially Afghans, saying that the Islamic Republic continues its comprehensive policy of providing services to refugees despite sanctions and economic pressures.

Inna Gladkova on Saturday made remarks in the inauguration ceremony of a school in Iran's Pakdasht County, expressing her gratitude to the people and the government of the Islamic Republic for supporting the refugees.

She added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has taken effective and continuous measures to include all refugees, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) declares its readiness to fulfill its commitments.

Inna Gladkova added: There are many needs in the field of providing education for refugees, but in the last 10 years, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees  (UNHCR) has built only 95 schools in Iran, and the need for schools is definitely more than this.
