Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani on Thursday called on the UN Security Council to strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Shiraz that left 15 people dead.

Speaking at the Security Council, Iravani expressed sadness that the people of Iran have once again been targeted by a terrorist attack, saying that women and children have been among the victims.

He said that Iran considers terrorism, in all of its forms, as a real threat against international peace and security.

The UN Security Council is now highly expected to strongly denounce the heinous crime in Iran’s southern city of Shiraz, the Iranian envoy stressed.

UN Chief Antonio Guterres and the world body’s spokesman Stéphane Dujarric have already condemned the attack at the Shah Cheragh holy shrine that was claimed by Daesh.
