Tehran, IRNA – Mohammad-Sadeq Firouzpour, Iran's 74-kilogram U-23 freestyle wrestler in 2022 Spain Junior Freestyle Championship won the final match versus an Azerbaijani athlete to win Iran's 2nd gold world medal on Sunday evening.

The final and bronze medal matches of the 2nd five weights of world freestyle began at 7:30 pm Tehran time in Pontevedra, Spain.

In 74-kilogram weight Iranian senior freestyle wrestler beat Turkmenistan's Safar Atamir Charliev 10-0 in his first match and Turkey's Esmat Jitfju 6-4 to reach the quarter final.

In the quarter final, too, he beat Ukraine's Vadim Kurlinco 4-0 to reach the semifinal.

Firouzpour competitor from Georgia, Timori Broshivili did not come to the round mattress as he was hurt, and thus Firouzpour became a finalist.

The Iranian athlete faced Azerbaijan's Mord Godjiev, whom he beat 5-2 to win the world gold medal of his weight class.

Before Firouzpour, Iran's Azarpira and Amir Mohammad Yazdani had won a gold and a silver medal for Iran today.
