Amirabdollahian made the announcement in a telephone conversation with his Portuguese counterpart João Gomes Cravinho.
The Islamic Republic believes that war will be extended if any side is equipped, so Iran does not see war as a proper solution for solving problems in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, and Yemen, Amirabdollahian underlined.
From east and west, Iran is facing terrorist groups al Qaeda, Jaish Al-Adl, and Daesh (ISIS), he said, adding that the country has also witnessed the transfer of weapons in eastern and western borders in recent weeks.
And this is while certain countries through meddling remarks say that the unrest and terrorist activities are a kind of protest, said the foreign minister stressing that they provoke the vandals and terrorists.
Those countries have even put the issue of sanctions or resolution on the agenda, Amirabdollahian underlined, while referring to Iran’s reciprocal reaction if the measures were taken against the Islamic Republic.
Elaborating on his talks held recently in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in September, Amirabdollahian said constructive negotiations were held between the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Islamic Republic of Iran has stressed the necessity of closing the cases of accusation against the country, the foreign minister noted.
For his part, the Portuguese foreign minister highlighted good ties between Lisbon and Tehran and welcomed Iran’s stance on the continuation of the nuclear talks.
Cravinho called for the continuation of Iran’s cooperation in line with easing tension in Ukraine.
Further, he expressed sympathy with family members of those, including security and police officials, who were killed or injured during the recent incidents in Iran.
In the end, the two exchanged views about international and bilateral issues.
