Tehran, IRNA – The spokesman for the Iranian parliament presiding board said that the Iranian nation did not join the rioters.

Speaking to reporters, Nezamoddin Mousavi said not over 45,000 people had attended the gatherings in all cities on September 21.

He said that the chairman of the national security and foreign policy of the Iranian parliament presented a report on the recent incidents from regional international views.

He revealed the connection between some of the rioters with foreign countries.

He added that Mahsa Amini’s case is under investigation by the parliament and the government.

He went on to say that some organized groups used Mahsa Amini’s death as a tool for creating riots in the country.

Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian girl, fainted when in custody in Tehran and died shortly afterward in a nearby hospital.

Her death triggered public anger and sympathy among the Iranian people so President Ebrahim Raisi called her family when he said that he had ordered the incident to be investigated carefully so that no right would be violated.
