Reason for cancellation of Raisi's interview with CNN

Tehran, IRNA - The reason behind cancellation of President Ebrahim Raisi's interview with CNN was that the media's presenter refused to accept protocol, IRNA managing director said.

Ali Naderi, managing director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday: Mrs. Amanpour [Christian Amanpour, Chief International Anchor for CNN] from CNN aimed to interview with the president, but because of refusing protocol, which is being determined by the guest rationally, she did not succeeded in this job.

Amanpour asked for an interview with President Raisi during his stay in New York to take part in the 77 UN General Assembly, but following the cancellation of the interview, the journalist tried to create hue and cry in Western media.
