New York, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said, "We have not yet seen practical and serious behavior that is a sign of compensating for past behavior and lifting oppressive sanctions".

Raisi made the remarks in a meeting with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis.

He stressed boosting commercial and economic cooperation and facilitating monetary and banking relations between the two countries.

He held the US responsible for the current situation regarding the nuclear issue, saying that the US withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran and that the West has not complied with commitments.

He added that Iran’s demand is to receive a guarantee of the stability of the agreement.

Despite 40 years of pressure and sanctions, Iran has not only not stopped but has progressed, meaning that the sanctions have lost their effectiveness.

Meanwhile, Cassis stressed developing bilateral cooperation, saying a road map has been drawn to improve trade between the two countries since 2016.

We believe that political and geopolitical obstacles should be removed from bilateral cooperation.
