Tehran, IRNA – Home appliances made in Iran are considered as competitive products at regional level, an Iranian official said.

Abbas Hashemi, the director general of the Iran Home Appliance Industry Association, told IRNA on Friday that policymaking in the home appliances industry should be carried out following the signing of an agreement on reviving the 2015 nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in order to pave the ground for improving export of products of the industry.

The best choice in the post-JCPOA situation can be inviting leading brands to cooperate with Iranian companies in implementing joint projects and manufacturing licensed goods via joint or direct foreign investments, he noted.

According to the official, the positive atmosphere following the revival of the nuclear deal and the removal of the anti-Iran sanctions can provide the Islamic country to improve management training, marketing, branding, export as well as research and development projects.

On average, the value of the annual export of home appliances was 250 million dollars in recent years, he noted, adding that given the fact many Iranian manufacturers have found markets in the region for their products, there is a necessity for boosting exports of home appliances because of growth of production in this industry.

Iran has planned for manufacturing 18 million pieces of home appliances in the next calendar year (to be started on March 21, 2023).

The export volume of Iranian-made home appliances stood at 393 million dollars in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021, to March 20, 2022).

The export increased to 164 million dollars within the first four months of the current year (March 21, 2022, to July 22, 2022), indicating the fact that 114 percent of the export targets have been materialized.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkey, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and certain member states of the European Union are the main destinations for Iran-made home appliances.
