Kenneth Nóbrega, Secretary of the Middle East, Europe and Africa at Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Baqeri in Tehran on Monday as a part of the 11th round of Iran-Brazil political consultations.
Iran opposes war, Baqeri said, referring to the war in Ukraine. He added that unilateralism has lost initiative and multilateralism has now the ability to define the conditions and requirements of the new world order.
Iran’s presence in the SCO political-security complex and its participation in the BRICS+ economic mechanism have enabled Iran to participate in major decision-makings in political, security, and economic spheres in the international arena and have elevated the position of multilateralism front in international equations, according to Baqeri.
The deputy foreign minister also said that Iran’s relations with Russia, China, India, and Brazil would multilateral and that the relationship between Tehran and Brasilia would be defined in accordance with their contribution to the new world order.
He underscored Iran’s strong determination to expand ties with Brazil as a reliable partner in all areas.
The Brazilian official, Nóbrega, endorsed Iran’s capabilities and said that his country was seeking to increase international interactions and promote multilateralism.
He said that Brazil rejected unilateralism and imposing economic sanctions and expressed hope that would expand relations in all areas.
