Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian consulate general in Pakistan’s city of Karachi will hold a conference dubbed “Picturesque Iran” on Monday, August 22.

The announcement was made by Iranian Consul General Hassan Nourian on Saturday.

He told IRNA that the conference will be the second of its kind and is aimed at supporting the tourism sector of both countries.

The gathering also aims to boost relations between the people of Iran and Pakistan, Nourian added.

He added that individuals active in tourism, as well as officials from both countries will attend the conference.

The diplomat said that Iran each year receives thousands of Pakistani people who either visit the country’s religious sites or go to Iraq for pilgrimages. Therefore, he added, efforts should be made to enhance relations between the people of Iran and Pakistan.
