Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s mixed compound team won a silver medal in archery competitions during the Islamic Solidarity Games underway in the city of Konya, central Turkey.

The team made up of Geesa Baibordi and Amir Kazempour competed with Indonesia in the semi-final, defeating it 156-154 to qualify for the final.

But in the final, the Iranian team lost to Turkey 149-156 and won a silver medal.

Meantime, the Iranian mixed recurve team made up of Mahta Abdollahi and Reza Sha’abani competed with Guinea in the round of sixteen, beating it 6-2.

The Iranian team qualified for the semi-final after winning against Azerbaijan 5-1 in the quarter final.

But in the semi-final, the Iranians were defeated by Indonesia 5-1 and went to classification match which they lost to Uzbekistan 5-4.
