Qassemi will arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday to lead the Iranian delegation while Commerce Minister of Pakistan Naveed Qamar will head the Pakistani delegation at the 21st JEC meeting.
The visiting Iranian minister of roads and urban development will also hold important meetings with the Pakistani officials on the sidelines of the JEC meeting starting tomorrow.
The last meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission was held in 2016 in Tehran and now Islamabad is hosting the new round of the Joint Economic Commission.
Important negotiations are expected to be held between high-level delegations of Iran and Pakistan regarding the barter trade mechanism, activation of border markets, facilitation of exports and imports, strengthening of transit and transportation links, and expansion of people-to-people contacts.
