Tehran, IRNA – Spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani on Monday expressed the country’s condolences to Sudan over deadly floods in the African state.

Kanaani also announced Iran’s readiness to dispatch humanitarian aid to flood-hit areas in Sudan.

Various states across the northeastern African country were hit by floods triggered by torrential rains in the past several days.

The authorities have so far confirmed the death of 52 people.

They say thousands of homes, much-needed infrastructure, as well as agricultural lands have been destroyed too.
