Tehran, IRNA – Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is on a visit to Tehran, met with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi on Tuesday evening.

The two presidents reportedly discussed ways for expansion of bilateral relations in different areas, including energy, transit, trade exchanges and regional developments as well.

After the meeting in the presidential office, Raisi and Putin left for a meeting with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Russian President is in Tehran to attend the 7th summit meeting of the guarantors of Astana peace talks.
