-- Iran in talks with EAEU on FTA

Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) representatives have gathered in Tehran for the fifth round of negotiations on upgrading the current preferential trade agreement between the two sides into a free trade agreement (FTA).
The talks started on Monday with the presence of a Eurasian delegation comprised of representatives of the union’s member states and the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as Trade Promotion Organization Head Alireza Peymanpak and representatives of Iranian ministries and agencies.

-- Deputy FM: Zionists cannot even dream of attacking Iran

A top Iranian diplomat said attacking Iran is beyond the Zionists’ wildest dreams, warning them of the fatal consequences of cherishing such an idea.
Making the remarks in an interview with Yemen’s Al Masirah TV channel, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani said, “Zionists cannot even dream of attacking Iran, and even if they dream of invading the Islamic Republic, it would be a dream from which they would not awaken.

-- Vakil Caravanserai: Amazing historical structure in Kerman

Vakil Caravanserai is an amazing ancient structure located on Shariati Street in Kerman, the capital city of the southeastern province of Kerman. With more than 120 rooms, the monument is among the largest caravanserais of the country.
The two-story building was built by the order of Mohammad Ismail Khan, the governor of Kerman from 1898 to 1908, chtn.ir reported.
The historical monument is in the vicinity of the important historical center of the city including Ganjali Khan bathhouse and caravanserai, Coin Museum, Kerman Bazaar, as well as Vakil Bazaar and mosque.
The caravanserai has two entrance doors to Vakil Bazaar, both of which are decorated with beautiful plasterwork and tiling. Eighty-one chambers have been constructed on the ground floor, and thirty-nine on the upper floor.

-- Iran’s Progress Not Tied to Frowns or Smiles

President Ebrahim Raisi has pledged “no retreat” and “no pause” in the country’s scientific progress under his administration, saying the march forward will continue irrespective of the enemy’s efforts to cause otherwise.
Raeisi made the remarks in a ceremony held to praise high-achieving professors and students at the Iran University of Science and Technology Monday night.
“Once some believed in this country that we should not unveil satellites built by Iranian experts to avoid giving the enemy any excuses,” he said. “But the situation has changed today, and we will not tie the country’s scientific progress to others’ frowns or smiles.”

-- Iraqi Parliament Speaker Calls for Expanding Relations With Iran

Iraqi Parliament speaker Mohamed Halbousi held a meeting with the new Iranian envoy to Baghdad and stressed the importance of diplomatic measures for the development of bilateral ties between Baghdad and Tehran.
At the the meeting, al-Halbosi wished the new Iranian ambassador success, local Iraqi media cited the statement as saying.
Tehran-Baghdad bilateral relations and ways to expand common cooperation in various fields were the top topics discussed between Halbousi and Mohammad Kazem Al-e Sadegh.
The two sides also discussed the political developments in Iraq and the region.

-- Hamid Amraei Quits UAE Jiu-Jitsu Contests to Avoid Facing Zionist Rival

Iranian athlete, Hamid Amraei, has decided to withdraw from AJP Tour Fujairah International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to avoid facing a Zionist counterpart.
The move, by Hamid Amraei, is seen as a new snub for the regime following similar measures taken by a host of Muslim players from across the Islamic world.
Amraei was initially scheduled to take on an opponent from Brazil in the men’s 77-kilogram weight class, but officials changed the draw and set him on course for a showdown against a Zionist competitor.

-- Baghdad negotiations paved way for Iran-Saudi political talks: Iraqi advisor 

An advisor to the Iraqi prime minister has said that the talks that Baghdad hosted between Iran and Saudi Arabia have paved the way for the two countries to start political talks. 

The advisor, Hussein Allawi, said that “Iraq's endeavor, through the efforts made by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, aims to bring the region to the stage of regional harmony, stability, cooperation and development.”

He added, “The good offices led by Iraq in restoring stability in the region through the Saudi-Iranian dialogue initiative to reduce escalation and normalize relations, come in this context, which prompted al-Kadhimi to play this role since the launch of the first unannounced talks between the two parties on April 9, 2021.” 

-- Children’s Book Council of Iran announces shortlist for 2024 Hans Christian Andersen Award 

The Children’s Book Council of Iran announced its shortlist for the 2024 Hans Christian Andersen Award on Tuesday. The Hans Christian Andersen Award, nicknamed the Nobel Prize for children’s literature, is the highest international distinction given to the creators of books for young people.

Given biennially by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) in Basel, Switzerland, the Hans Christian Andersen Awards recognize lifelong achievement and are given to an author and an illustrator whose complete works have made a significant and lasting contribution to literature for young people.

-- Old hands honored for excellence in Iran cultural heritage

On Monday evening, twelve veteran experts were honored by the tourism minister for their contributions to preserving Iran’s cultural heritage.

“Our cultural heritage belongs to the world and mankind… And it’s a big honor for me to appreciate the sincere contributions of cultural heritage experts,” Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Minister Ezzatollah Zarghami said.

Mohammadreza Owlia, Abdollah Jabal Amoli, Hamideh Chubak, Ali-Akbar Saeidi, Mohammad-Hassan Semsar, Mohammadrahim Sarraf, Faeq Tohidi, Rajabali Labbaf-Khaniki, Mehdi Mojabi, Mohammad-Hassan Mohebali, and Mohammad Mirshokraei were honored during a ceremony held at the ministry headquarters in Tehran.
