Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has underscored that the delivery of an Iranian-made 113k-ton oil tanker to Venezuela indicates the fact that the resistance economy is efficient.

President Raisi made the remarks in the ceremony of delivering the tanker to Venezuela in the presence of his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro in Tehran on Saturday.

According to the Iranian chief executive, the designing and manufacturing of the 113k-ton oil tanker by Iranian engineers and shipping industries are an example of the Islamic country’s capacities and capabilities in exporting technical services and engineering.

Raisi expressed satisfaction with the delivery of the oil tanker to the friendly and brotherly country, adding that the delivery in the situation that enemies of Venezuela and Iran try to put pressure and impose cruel sanctions on both countries to stop advancements by these two free nations proves “efficiency of the model of resistance economy.”

The manufacturing of the oil tanker has been approved by engineering and technical Venezuelan experts, the Iranian president said, adding that the tanker will help the Venezuelan Government to enhance its independence in maritime transportation, so the measure shows that determination and unity of revolutionary governments are much more effective than the United States’ sanction policy.

Caracas and Tehran are two economies, that support each other in procuring supply chains in both countries with the aim of guaranteeing welfare and development for their own nations, Raisi noted, adding that such joint ventures are good patterns for all developing and independent countries to witness that cooperation and interaction can pave the way to implement important projects.

He also expressed hope that Iran is manufacturing two oil tankers, which are going to be delivered to Venezuela in the future.

Maduro, for his part, praised Iranians’ efforts to manufacture the 113k-ton oil tanker, saying when he saw the tanker, he was reminded of the happy face of popular Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.

Commander Chavez planned to manufacture oil tankers for the Venezuelan oil company in order to make the country’s oil industry self-sufficient in the face of foreign plots and pressures, Maduro noted.

He also expressed gratitude to Iran on behalf of all the Venezuelans for the delivery of the oil tanker to Venezuela’s national oil company.

The ceremony of delivering the second oil tanker named Aframax ocean-going oil tanker, which was made by Iran's Sadra Company, was held in the presence of President Raisi and President Maduro in Tehran on Saturday.

Venezuela signed a contract with Iran to purchase four tankers worth 240 million dollars.

President Maduro, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Tehran on June 10 in order to sign a 20-year cooperation document with Iran on political, cultural, tourism, economic, oil, and petrochemical fields.
