Tehran, IRNA – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will travel to Iran on Saturday for a two-day official visit.

Maduro, heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, pays the visit at an invitation by his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi. The two presidents are set to hold talks.

High-level delegations from the two countries will meet too.

Iran and Venezuela have in recent years developed their relations.

Both countries are targeted by US sanctions mainly over their opposition to what they see as Washington’s hegemonic policies.
