Tehran, IRNA – Following assassination of Palestinian journalist Shereen Abu Aqleh, numerous countries have condemned the criminal act, but the United States, which is aiding and abetting the Zionist regime and its military apparatus as well as spending 3.8 billion dollars in aid packages to the Israeli army annually, has refused to slam this terroristic act so far.

Abu Aqleh was shot down by Zionist military forces, when she was reporting in Jenin, the West Bank. At the time of shooting, she had on a helmet and bulletproof jacket, indicating that she was a journalist.

The Zionists fired at her several times and hampered on-time relief effort, so several countries, international bodies and organizations reacted to the crime and called for holding the Zionist regime accountable for such a brutality, but the US has kept silence so far.

Meanwhile, the Zionist regime cancelled investigation into the killing of Abu Aqleh and announced that the regime will not go through the legal procedure on this event.

According to Palestinian journalists syndicate, Abu Agleh was the 86th journalist who has been killed since the occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip by the Israeli regime in 1967, while the journalists have been reporting the regime’s crimes against Palestinians.

The Zionist regime did not allow Palestinian mourners to carry her coffin to a burial site, so the people were forced to return the corpse into the hospital. In the skirmish, some tens of Palestinian mourners were injured.

The killing of the journalist and attack on her funeral procession indicated the racist structure of the brutal regime.

According to the Amnesty International, violation of Palestinians’ rights is a systemic crime by the Israeli regime.

Israeli officials have always attempted to put the blame on Palestinians, while field investigators of the United Nations Human Rights Council ruled out claims made by the regime.

A Zionist military official alleged that Israeli military forces did not shoot down the Palestinian journalist. However, a Qatari official emphasized that the assassination of Abu Aqleh is an attempt to suffocate the voice of realities and freedom of speech.

The Biden Administration did not pay attention to the story of Palestinians and preferred to listen to Zionists’ claims in this respect.

Washington allocates 3.8 billion dollars in direct aids to Israeli army, which is being spent for purchasing ammunitions and weaponry systems made by the US, so the United States and its authorities are hand in glove with Israel in their crimes against Palestinians.

According to the Leahy amendments, which has its name after Senator Patrick Leahy, the US is not allowed to assist militaries who are involved in violation of human rights, but in fact, the White House has never observed the law especially when it comes to the Zionist regime.

American analysts are of the opinion that the Biden administration’s all-out support for the Tel Aviv regime’s crime against the journalist is in line with its attempt to cover up brutal and inhuman acts committed by the Zionist regime in the occupied territories.

President Joe Biden has a long history of supporting Israelis in their clashes with Palestinians and Arabs. When Biden was a senator, he made a trip to the occupied lands in 1973 and emphasized that he is committed to the security of Israel.

During Barack Obama's presidency, when Biden was his vice president, he backed supply of advanced military technologies such as Iron Dome to the Zionist regime.

Even when Biden took office, the US president announced that he will not retreat from his predecessor Donald Trump’s decision to move the United States’ embassy to occupied al-Quds.
