Tehran, IRNA – Iranian freestyle wrestlers Rahman Amouzad Khalili, Ali Savadkouhi and Mohammad Hossein Mohammadian won gold medals on Saturday in the 2022 Asian Wrestling Championships in Mongolia.

Freestyle wrestling games began today and will end tomorrow. Iranian wrestlers scooped three gold medals in one day in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia.

Khalili hit three rivals from Pakistan, Japan and Mongolia to reach to the final match with India’s Olympic bronze winner Bajrang Punia. Khalili defeated the Indian rival 3-1, winning the gold medal in 65k category.

Savadkouhi, the other Iranian freestyle wrestler in 79k category, beat Yudai Takahashi 3-0 before he fought an almost equal fight with the Indian wrestler in the finale. Savadkouhi won the final match with aggregate scores.

Elsewhere in the competitions, Mohammadian fought brilliant fights, securing great results: 10-0, 10-0 and 11-0. He won the final match with a Mongolian freestyle wrestler and gained the gold medal in 97k category.
