Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador in Kabul Bahador Aminian on Monday met with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the leader of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin party.

Aminian and Hekmatyar discussed political and social issues, as well as the situation of Afghan refugees in Iran, according to a statement by the party's press office.

Hekmatyar has urged the Taliban to form a coalition with his party a year before the group's takeover of Kabul to end the crisis in Afghanistan.

He had told Taliban that his party shared common interests and values with them and they could establish an Islamic system together.

Hekmatyar criticized Taliban recently for their decision to remove party leaders from the framework of Ministry of Justice and said that even the Soviet Union and the NATO failed to remove Hezb-e-Islami party.
