Speaking at the annual gathering of Persian language teaching institutes in the School of International Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khatibzadeh said that safeguarding the Persian language was not a task to be done by one organization.
He counted foreign ministry's tasks in this regard as supporting Persian language teaching institutes, cooperation with universities, granting scholarship, giving awards and holding Persian language festivals.
The spokesman said that the ministry had achieved different outcomes in different countries; for example, it has been successful in Senegal, India, Kharkov, and Slovakia, but Persian language schools have decreased in some countries, e.g. Armenia.
The foreign ministry, according to the spokesman, has prepared a plan to select a capital for the Persian language and its research works have been done and it will be held as an international Iranology award.
He also said that the ministry has delivered 7,000 Iran-related books to Iran chambers in foreign missions.
