Tehran, IRNA -- The ways for expanding relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia were discussed in a meeting between Iran's Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Qasem Rezaei and his Armenian counterpart First deputy chief of Armenia’s Police Aram Hovhannisyan.

In this meeting, held in Tehran, Iran's Deputy Police Chief expressed hope for more bilateral interactions with in various fields, especially police issues.

He added that Tehran is ready to hold joint bilateral specialized meetings to expand existing relations. 

Referring to the point that the Islamic Republic of Iran has valuable and unique experiences in various police fields, Brigadier General Rezaei hoped bilateral meetings be held, especially in border cities.

First deputy chief of Armenia’s Police, Aram Hovhannisyan, for his part in the meeting, referring to the type of police missions in Armenia, said that the main purpose of this meeting is to develop cooperation in various police fields, especially in dealing with and combating drug traffickers.

The both sides in the meeting, agreed to hold practical bilateral meetings with commanders and officials in border cities in the near future.
