In an exclusive interview with Iran Daily, Ali Akbar Narimani, the head of the Chelo Kabab Union of Tehran, which was established in 1938, talked about the activities of his union and the main problems including COVID conditions as well as market updates.
As one of the oldest unions of Iran, the members of the Chelo Kabab Union of Tehran provide people with the most delicious food of the country, said Narimani, adding that, no doubt, Iranians still choose chelo kabab as their first option in their ceremonies.
-- Iran’s 10-month steel output nears 30m tons
Iranian steelmakers produced more than 29.7 million tons of steel and steel products during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021-January 20, 2022), according to statistics released by the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade on Saturday.
During the said 10 months, steel plants of the country churned out over 18 million tons of crude steel as well as 11.7 million tons of steel products.

Nazia Barani is an Iranian translator and a professor at the Faculty of Linguistics at the University of Salamanca in Spain, and head of its Iranian Studies Center.
She has taken fruitful steps in the development of Persian language in Spain and prompted many people to learn about the rich Persian literature.
Barani’s interest in Iran and her mother tongue led her to obtain the approval of officials of the University of Salamanca for the establishment of the Iranian Studies Center. For the first time, Persian is offered as a second language in addition to elective courses.

-- Raisi Tells Macron: All Sanctions Must Be Removed
President Ebrahim Raisi said Saturday any possible agreement between Iran and the P4+1 group of countries in Vienna must include the removal of all sanctions, the provision of valid guarantees and cessation of political issues and claims.
He told his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron over phone that the Iranian negotiating team has repeatedly announced that it welcomes the initiatives that would guarantee the provision and protection of the nation’s rights.
-- Iran Sounds Out UN on Afghan Refugee Burden, Yemen Crisis
Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian has warned of the burden of a new wave of refugees from Afghanistan and also stated that the ongoing Yemen crisis has reached a critical point that requires concerted international efforts.
Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the 58th Munich Security Conference (MSC) in southern Germany on Friday evening.
The Iranian foreign minister stressed the need for continuation of humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan with the involvement of all ethno-political groups in order to effectively address the lingering problems in the country.
-- Iranian Athletes Bag 4 Medals in Bulgaria Wrestling Contests
Iranian wrestlers have won one gold and three bronze medals in Bulgaria’s Danklov and Nikolai Petrov Cup competitions. Iran’s Meysam Delkhani bagged the gold in the 63kg category in the Greco-Roman division.
Dalkhani received the first title in 63kg weight category, which was held with 12 wrestlers on Friday night. He defeated all his opponent. His compatriots Alireza Abdoli and Alireza Muhammadi won the bronze medal in the 72kg and 82kg categories of the Greco-Roman contests, respectively.

--37th Fajr Music Festival wraps up with honoring Barbad Awards winners
The 37th Fajr Music Festival ended on Friday evening with honoring the winners of the Barbad Awards, which are presented to top musical productions of the year. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili several other cultural officials attended the closing ceremony of the festival organized at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
“Iranian musicians are among the most genuine artists of the country. They have always respected Iranian culture and rituals, and nobody is allowed to view them as anything else,” Esmaeili said.
-- Iran-EU trade rises 9% in 2021
The value of trade between Iran and the European Union reached €4.863 billion in 2021, registering a nine-percent growth compared to the previous year. According to the data released by the European Union's statistics office Eurostat, the trade between Iran and the European Union during 2020 stood at €4.458 billion, Tasnim news agency reported.
Iran exported €922 million worth of commodities to the union during January-December 2021 to register a 29-percent rise year on year.
-- Ancient potteries probably exposed by flash flood discovered in Susa
Local guards in charge of protecting cultural heritage have discovered three ancient potteries which had probably been exposed to sunlight due to a flash flood in Susa, southwest Iran.
“Following recent downpours, guards of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Unit discovered three potteries during their [routine] through inspection across the historical site of Beitol-Mashhout in Susa,” IRNA quoted a local police commander in charge of cultural heritage protection.
“The objects, which were obtained with the keenness and vigilance of the protection unit personnel, are three pottery objects that, according to the initial estimates, date from the (early) Islamic era,” Ramin Maknavi said.
