Shiraz, IRNA – Iranian wrestler and world's champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in 2021 Meysam Delkhani won a gold medal at Bulgaria Kolov-Nikola Petrov International.

Dalkhani received the first title in 63kg weight category, which was held with 12 wrestlers on Friday night. He defeated all his opponent. 

The Iranian wrestler defeated Dimitrovich of Serbia 8-0 in the first round and Kanibek Olu of Kyrgyzstan 7-3 in the second round to advance to the semifinals.

In the semi-finals, Dalkhani defeated European silver medalist Eric Turba of Hungary 7-6 to advance to the final.

Iran has sent eight Greco-Roman and freestyle  wrestlers to the tournament. The 59th edition of the event is being held in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria as of February 17.

This tournament is being held in honor of Dan Kolov who was the first European freestyle wrestling champion from Bulgaria and European and World Champion Nikola Petroff.
