-- Iran, Cuba stress strengthening ties to counter US sanctions
Iranian Vice President for Economic Affairs Mohsen Rezaei in a meeting with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations to counter US sanctions.
The meeting occurred in Managua on the sidelines of the swearing in ceremony of Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega.

China’s imports of Iranian crude oil last year hit a record high since the US imposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic in 2018 with the aim of bringing the country’s oil sales down to zero, Bloomberg reported.
Chinese refiners brushed off the risk of the sanctions to take in 324 million barrels from Iran and Venezuela in 2021, about 53% more than the year before, data from market intelligence firm Kpler cited by the news provider showed.
“That’s the most since 2018, when China took 352 million barrels from the two nations,” it added.
-- Ancient artifacts unearthed at Gohareh Hill of Bisotoun
Architectural remains and artifacts, dating back to the Seleucid (312-63 BCE) and Parthian (247 BCE-224 CE) eras, were discovered during excavations conducted at Gohareh Hill of Bisotoun, in the western province of Kermanshah, said the head of the archeological group working on the site.
Gohareh Hill is located in a village of the same name, four kilometers from Bisotoun.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Tuesday said that Tehran is ready to promote interactions with all regional countries in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Doha on the second leg of his regional tour after wrapping up a visit to the Omani capital of Muscat.
During the meeting, the foreign minister conveyed warm greetings of President Ebrahim Raisi to the Qatari emir and elaborated on the latest developments in mutual relations in various political, security, trade and economic fields.

-- Chinese ambassador meets Iran’s NPC president Khosravi Vafa
Chinese Ambassador to Iran Chang Hua met president of Iran’s National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa on Tuesday.
The meeting took place at Iran’s NPC headquarters in Tehran.
The 2022 Winter Games will be held in Beijing, China but several of the nations executing a diplomatic boycott of Beijing 2022 already have strained relations with China.
-- Oil, gas condensate output expected to rise next year
Considering the new resource allocations for the development of the oil industry in the budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year (starts on March 21), the country’s crude oil and gas condensate production is expected to increase by 144,000 barrels per day (bpd) in the next fiscal year.
According to Tasnim News Agency, in the budget bill for the next year, special attention has been paid to improving oil and gas production and development of energy infrastructure across the country in order to boost the oil output to 3.952 million bpd.
-- Seleucid, Parthian relics unearthed in UNESCO-tagged Bisotun
In a recent excavation in Bisotun, an ancient UNESCO-tagged site containing bas-reliefs and inscriptions of Darius the Great, archaeologists found relics and architectural remains dating from the Seleucid (312 BC-63 BC) and Parthian (247 BC – 224 CE) eras.
Some historical objects and remnants of some architectural structures were discovered during the first archaeological season of Iron Age Tepe Gohareh, located four kilometers from Bisotun, western Kermanshah province, Ramin Chehri who leads the excavation said, ILNA reported on Tuesday.
