President Raisi in his order missioned the Ministry of Roads and Rural Development, the Ministry of Defense and Logistical Support for Armed Forces, the Martyrs Foundation, and the Legal Affairs Office of the President’s Office to establish a joint workgroup with the task to resolve the problems with which the bereaved families of those victims are entangled.
The Iranian president, meanwhile, commemorated the name and braveries of Martyr General Qasem Soleimani.
“Martyr Soleimani was the true man of the battlefields and proved his loyalty to the system and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in practice,” added President Raisi.
Turning back to the catastrophic issue of the downed Ukrainian plane, the president said that it is necessary to sympathize with the bereaved families and accelerate the process of paying them compensation.
Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated in a targeted American drone strike on January 3, 2020 in Baghdad, Iraq on the orders of former US president Donald Trump. The strike was strongly condemned by the Iranian government and a mass multi-city funeral ceremonies were held in both Iraq and Iran for General Soleimani and other martyrs killed by the drone strike.
Hours after his burial on January 7, 2020, the Iranian military launched missile strikes against the US military bases in Iraq; while no lives were lost in the second attack, the Pentagon reported that 110 American troops were affected in the strikes.
