Kabul, IRNA – Kabul University professor Naser Khavari described assassination of the Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani as a big blow to US credibility and its human rights' claims, saying that the terrorist move revealed Washington's real image to the world.

Speaking to IRNA on the occasion of the second anniversary of Lieutenant General Soleimani's martyrdom, Khavari termed martyr Soleimani as charismatic and popular figure.

He noted that assassination of General Soleimani indicated state terrorism in the United States.

He also hailed General Soleimani's efforts to support the oppressed nations in the region.

US terrorists assassinated General Soleimani, the commander of the Qods Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the former commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), along with their companions by targeting their vehicles outside Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020, at the direct order from then US President Donald Trump.
