According to Khorasan Razavi Cultural Heritage Organization, the ambassador made the remarks during a visit to a cultural and historical complex in Tous and mausoleum of Ferdowsi on Monday.
Pointing to cultural commonalities of two nations of Iran and Japan, he said that there are some epic literature in Japan, which helped consolidate national identity in the East Asian country, and that Ferdowsi's poems have played the same role in Iran.
As to narration of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh performed in front of the ambassador, he noted that he became acquainted with epic lifestyle of the Iranian people.
Kazutoshi Aikawa also expressed hope for expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and Japan.
He further pointed to development of economic ties with Iran in particular with Khorasan Razavi province, noting that his embassy will make all-out efforts to remove obstacles in the way of trade cooperation between Japanese and Iranian companies.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he mentioned that Iran's services to Afghan refugees have impressed him.
For his part, Governor General of Khorasan Razavi province Yaghubali Nazari expressed hope that other countries such as Japan would assist Iran to help foreign refugees particularly Afghan asylum seekers.
Nazari went on to say that Japanese firms pursue appropriate cooperation with companies active in the province, noting that his office is ready to help Japanese companies in expanding collaborations in renewable energies.
