Tehran, IRNA – Deputy governor of Khorasan Razavi for economic affairs said here on Saturday that this province has planned comprehensively for expansion of ties with Kyrgyzstan, which will soon lead to establishment of direct economic ties between this province and that country.

Morteza Ashrafi who was speaking at the meeting of Khorasan Razavi Foreign Relations Committee at the Governorate Office added that Khorasan Razavi share in Iran’s economic exchanges with Kyrgyzstan is now 70%, but the financial value of those transactions is low, that will reach a satisfactory level after elimination of difficulties and obstacles and proper planning.

“In order to expand economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, Khorasan Razavi has proposed cooperation in health tourism, launching direct flights to Bishkek, exchange of economic delegations, the activation of Iranians Trade Center in Bishkek, and sponsoring regular Investment Opportunities Conferences in two countries.

The deputy governor of Khorasan Razavi said that Islamic Republic of Iran Goods and Technical Services Exhibition will be opened in Bishkek in a short while, in line with those initiatives.

“Kyrgyzstan is the 6th destination for Khorasan Razavi direct exports, and during the first six months of the current Iranian year the province has exported over 22 million dollars to that country, which shows 250% increase year on year,” reiterated Ashrafi.
