Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said on Saturday that foreign powers are trying to create ethnic and religious strife among Muslims to lead them to regional civil wars and fratricide.

Qalibaf made the remarks speaking during the closing ceremony of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.

Referring to the recent developments in Afghanistan, the Parliament speaker said that “hidden hands” are seeking to push the region into eternal insecurity.

He noted that the recent crimes in Afghanistan and major plans by the US and the Zionist regime to create chaos and discord in Lebanon and Iraq are in line with this plot.

Underlining the role of Islamic Ulema these days, Qalibaf noted that the healing prescription for overcoming this difficult and complex enmity is the awareness and knowledge of the Muslim Ummah.
