Oroumiyeh, IRNA – Representative of Oroumiyeh city in the Parliament cited Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi saying Lake Urmia restoration program should be continued.

Lawmaker Vahid Jalalzadeh said in an interview with IRNA on Saturday that East Azarbaijan and West Azarbaijan provinces MPs had a meeting with President Raisi, briefing him on the demands of people of both provinces.

He said that restoration of Lake Urmia located between East Azarbaijan and West Azarbaijan provinces in northwestern Iran was the most important issue highlighted by people who had submitted their demands in over 2,000 messages.

Jalalzadeh noted that the President had emphasized that Lake Urmia Restoration Program should continue its task in a new form.
