-- President: Talks to revive JCPOA must secure interests of all Iranians

President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi said Iran will resume nuclear talks in Vienna, stressing that the most important thing that should be taken into serious consideration is that the talks must secure interests of all Iranians. “During the talks that have been held in Tehran a few days ago, we said that Iran is serious about result-oriented negotiations and that other parties involved in nuclear talks should also show their seriousness in lifting illegal and oppressive sanctions imposed on the country,” said the president during his second televised interview on Monday evening.

President Raeisi was referring to the talks between Iran and the European Union deputy foreign policy chief Enrique Mora, held in Tehran last week, over the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

-- Iran planning to finish transport corridors: Railways chief

Iran is to finish the transport corridors projects, seeking to improve the efficiency of the country’s railroad system, said the new CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (IRIR).
“Given the vast area of the country, the railways would make the biggest contribution to the transport system in Iran,” IRNA quoted Mi’ad Salehi as speaking in his induction ceremony on Monday.
Praising the efforts in recent years, Salehi called for “practical measures” to be adopted by the new Iranian administration in the railway sector.

-- UNESCO inspectors visit Moshir-ol-Molk Caravanserai in Bushehr Province

The inspectors of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) paid a visit to Moshir-ol-Molk Caravanserai of Borazjan, in the southern province of Bushehr, on Monday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the visit, Mohammad Hassan Talebian, adviser to the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism minister, referred to the renovation projects which are presently underway in Moshir-ol-Molk Caravanserai, saying that the monument, registered on Iran’s National Heritage List as a cultural and historical symbol, is expected to be introduced for inscription on UNESCO’s List.

-- Start of the Islamic Unity Week

Today the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal marks the start of the Islamic Unity Week initiated in 1979 by that Sage of the Age, Imam Khomeini (RA), following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, in order to bring Muslims of all denominations on a common platform.
The birth anniversary of the Almighty’s Last and Greatest Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (SAWA), is an occasion of joy. It is an event to celebrate in order to promote the dynamism of fraternity and brotherhood transcending the superficial divisions of ethnicity, lineage, social status, language, skin colour, geography, and nationality, by focusing on the immaculate personality of the Prophet of Peace, who bequeathed to humanity practical precedents that ensure harmony and development – if diligently followed.

-- 20-Year Cooperation Accord With Venezuela

Iran will sign a 20-year cooperation accord with Venezuela when President Nicolas Maduro visits Tehran “in the next few months”.
In a joint press conference with his Venezuelan counterpart Felix Plasencia in Tehran on Monday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian announced the news and added that a joint economic cooperation commission, which will be formed in Iran’s capital before the end of the year which, will finalize the details of the agreement.
“All of this confirms that relations between the two countries are on the rise,” Amir-Abdollahian said, adding that some of the agreements made earlier on cooperation on a wide range of issues, including energy, are currently being implemented.

-- Iran Handball Team to Participate at Qatar Tournament

Iran national handball team will take part in the four-team Qatar handball tournament. The tournament will be held in Doha from October 31 to November 6. Qatar, Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabi will participate in the event.
Iran prepare for the 2022 Asian Men’s Handball Championship which is scheduled to be held from January 18 to 31, 2022 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Team Melli is leading by Spanish coach Montoya Montoya Fernandez since July.

-- Artist Ruholamin portrays arrival of Hazrat Masumeh (SA) in Qom

Hassan Ruholamin, an Iranian artist whose paintings mostly revolve around stories from the history of Islam, has portrayed in his new artwork the arrival of Hazrat Masumeh (SA) in Qom.  For the past few days, he has been in Qom at the shrine of Hazrat Masumeh (SA), portraying the story of her arrival to the Iranian city on Rabi’ al-Awwal 23, 201 on the Islamic calendar (October 23, 816 CE).

The artwork is scheduled to be unveiled on October 25 during a celebration marking the anniversary of the event.

-- 39 Iranian universities in ISC 2020 subject ranking

A total of 39 universities from Iran have been placed in the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC 2020) ranking in various subject areas, ISC head Mohammad Javad Dehghani has said. In “ISC world university rankings by subject” includes 4 major criteria of Education, Research, International Activity, and Innovation.

In ISC WUR by subject, the targeted universities are those that are ranked among the top 700 ones in the world and in terms of the number of publications in that subject area, where for three successive years should have published at least 150 publications in each subject area and finally, indexed them in incite database. These universities are ranked in 6 major subject areas and brought together with scores provided under their categories.

-- Iranian hotels ready to welcome foreign tourists

Iranian hotels are ready to receive foreign tourists as the issuance of tourist visas and the flow of foreign tourists from land and air borders will be resumed this month. Ninety percent of the hotel staff have been vaccinated against the coronavirus so far, so the hotels are ready to welcome foreign tourists, observing strict health protocols, the head of the Association of Iranian Hoteliers has announced.

To ease the travel process, individual foreign tourists could confirm the reservations of accommodation centers at the border, CHTN quoted Jamshid Hamzehzadeh as saying on Monday.
