Tehran, IRNA - The United States' withdrawal from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and re-imposition of sanctions show Washington's ambiguity and double standard, when it comes to pursuing diplomacy or adopting other options in facing the Islamic Republic.

As the nuclear negotiations reached an agreement, some ill-wishers made all-out efforts to get in the way of implementing the nuclear deal dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Finally, they urged the Trump administration to pull out of the international accord on May 8, 2018.

The Islamic Republic, attempting to prevent a sinister alliance, which could restore the UN Security Council's sanctions on Iran, waited for one year and called on other signatories to the deal to repair the US's violation of the agreement.

Following Europeans' inaction, Iran scaled back from its commitments under the JCPOA, increased the level of uranium enrichment and halted voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol and cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

But even if US President Joe Biden had vowed during his presidential election campaign that he would return to the nuclear deal soon, his administration has done nothing tangible in reviving the agreement.

Now that a new administration took power in Tehran and the Iranian authorities review possible ways to come back to the deal, serious opponents of the nuclear accord have created an ominous coalition to derail Washington from the peaceful way of diplomacy and negotiation.

The Most Important Opponents

The Zionist regime and certain regional allies of the United States are the main opponents of the return of the White House to the JCPOA.

Zionist and Saudi foreign ministers have visited Washington and held talks with American officials and resorted to threat as leverage to prevent the US from reviving the nuclear agreement.

Yair Lapid, Israeli Foreign Minister, unveiled a non-diplomatic option while trying to ignore the UN Charter, claiming that other options will be on the table if diplomacy bears no fruit, and warning that all in Israel, the UAE and Tehran are well aware of what is the meaning of other options.

It is interesting that Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, pointed to Iran as a security challenge for the United States and its allies in the region and even for the whole world, but in fact, the consequences of American wars and Zionists' crimes are well known throughout the globe.

Blinken did not raise any date for resumption of nuclear talks, but echoed his Israeli counterpart, claiming that every option will be reviewed when it comes to dealing with the challenge of Iran.

The US has so far refused to address Iranians' concern about the refusal of the JCPOA by the next administration in the White House and even try to make amend for their pull-out of the deal and re-imposition of sanctions on Iran, while Tehran has repeatedly urged for the lifting of embargos and revival of the 2015 nuclear deal.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud alleged that Iran's nuclear activities endanger the entire Middle East region. The facts on the ground show that Saudis' war on Yemen and their other provocations are sources of insecurity in the region.

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh underlined that the Islamic Republic as a responsible state has time and again announced that Tehran will return to its commitments under the JCPOA following the verifiable lifting of sanctions by the Western powers.

China has called on the US to stop the wrong policy of "maximum pressure" on Iranians and lift all anti-Iran sanctions.
