Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf condemned recent terrorist crimes against Muslim prayers at a mosque in the city of Kunduz, Afghanistan, stressing that enemies are working to create religious and ethnic discords in the country.

At the onset of the Sunday parliament session, Ghalibaf said that unfortunately, a great number of defenseless and innocent Afghan people were martyred at Seyed Abad Mosque in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan, on Friday.

The heinous act of massacring innocent people is a great pain for all freedom-loving nations, he added.

The speaker also condoled with Afghan brothers and sisters, praying for patience for relatives of the martyrs.

Decrying the cruel terrorist act, he said that officials in Afghanistan have the duty of guaranteeing security for all people living in the country, stressing that they should bring to justice all perpetrators and those, who are behind the heinous act of terrorism.

"Ethnic and religious seditions are new security projects of enemies of the Afghan nation, which are being conducted by terrorist groups with the help of the United States," Ghalibaf added.

Heads of Islamic states should rely on unity among Muslim nations to hinder Takfiri terrorism and promote security in the whole region, he urged.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian parliament speaker referred to two earthquakes in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari and Khuzestan provinces, which destroyed 130 villages, including schools and rural houses, in Andika, Khuzestan.
