Islamabad, IRNA -- The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan in a message has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in powerful earthquake in Balochistan province.

Mohammad Ali Hosseini in a tweet on Friday said saddened to hear about casualties and losses due to earthquake in Balochistan.

“May Allah Grant the departed souls in peace and save us from these incidents. Ameen,” he said.

Dozens of people were killed and hundreds more injured in an earthquake in south western Pakistan yesterday.

An earthquake shook Balochistan province in the early hours of Thursday morning, killing 24 people and injuring more than 300, Pakistani official sources said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Karim Hemmati, President of the Red Crescent Society of Iran, in a message to Abrar al-Haq, President of Pakistan’s Red Crescent Society has expressed his condolences to the families of the earthquake victims in Pakistan and announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to send aid to neighboring country.
