The world wrestling competitions in Oslo which began on September 25 will end on October 10.
The final and qualification matches of the first four weights began at 7:30 pm, Tehran time.
Hassan Yazdani in the final of the 86 kg weight category faced the Olympics gold medal winner David Taylor of the United States, almost two months after the Olympics final in which he had lost the match to Taylor.
Yazdani had also lost two other matches in confrontation with the same athlete, and was therefore quite determined to win this one.
During the first few seconds of the match he made Taylor leave the mattress, gaining his first point. He gained his second point by hitting under Taylor’s arm and making him bend ending the first round two-nil in his favor.
During the second 3 minutes of the match Taylor was more dynamic and was trying to pull Yazdani’s legs, but Yazdani pushed him forth and gained another two points.
A few seconds later Taylor grasped Yazdani’s legs, but the Iranian wrestler in a counter move made him fall, but the referees did not give him any point for that move.
Taylor was incessantly trying to grasp Yazdani’s legs, but was faced with his heavy and horrendous counter moves who was totally the governor on the mattress.
Yazdani during the ending seconds once again made his competitor fall, gaining another point, and eventually won the final match 6-2 in his favor, putting an end to the hegemony of being unbeatable of David Taylor.
Before losing to Iran's champion Hassan Yazdani, the American wrestler David Taylor had never lost a match during the past three years.
