Adel Najafzadeh, who also represents Khoy City in Majlis (Iran’s Parliament), headed a tourism and commercial delegation to Van, eastern Turkey, on Friday to attend Van International Industrial Fair.
They attended the inauguration ceremony of an the exhibition where Najafzadeh said that Iran and Turkey have valuable capacities in the fields of tourism, industry and economy.
He also pointed to reopening of Razi-Kapıköy border crossing and noted that it was expected to cause an increase in Iran-Turkey interaction.
The tomb of Shams-e Tabrizi, a renowned Iranian poet and mystic, in Khoy, northwestern Iran, and the tomb of Jalal al-Din Rumi, Iranian poet best known to be a disciple of Shams, in Konya, Turkey, can play important role in cultural ties between the two countries, Najafzadeh underlined.
He called on holding a joint exhibition by Iran and Turkey in West Azarbaijan Province, northwest Iran.
Najafzadeh also proposed establishing a joint chamber of commerce between Khoy and Van, making them sister cities, constructing joint investment zones, and establishing a joint border commission as Iran’s first priorities in fulfilling trading targets.
Osman Nuri Gülaçar, the head of Iran and Turkey Friendship Group in Turkey, named a number of issues regarding trading between the two countries, urging a meeting of businesspeople from both countries.
