Islamabad, IRNA - Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has arrived in Tehran on Thursday, the fourth phase of his regional tour to review developments in Afghanistan and deepen bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry in a statement said Pakistani Ambassador to Iran Rahim Hayat Qureshi and Assistant to Minister and Director General of West Asia at Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Seyed Rasoul Mousavi welcomed the Foreign Minister at Mehrabad International Airport.

During his visit to Iran, the Foreign Minister will hold meetings with newly elected Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The meetings will focus on bilateral relations, enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the law and order situation in the region, including Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister's visit to the four countries reflects the changing situation in Afghanistan and the challenges facing the region, as well as efforts to adopt a joint strategy at the regional level.
