Tehran, IRNA - An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale rocked Baba Monir, Fars Province, southern Iran on Friday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 14:01 hours local time and at the depth of 10 km underground.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 50.93 degrees longitude and 29.09 degrees latitude.

Meantime, governor of Mamasani Yaghoub Ayoubi said there were no casualties or damages to properties so far.

Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
