Moncada said that Iran and Nicaragua are two countries with many shared characteristics including in Ani-American stances.

Pointing to a lack of familiarity between each other and the malign role of Western media, Moncada said in his address that expanding the relationship between institutes and think tanks of Iran and Nicaragua would help in this regard.
He noted that the US opposed Nicaragua’s Sandinista Party led by Daniel Ortega because the party stood against US plans in the region and has the highest chance to win the upcoming election.
The Central American nation’s top diplomat also proposed that the countries in that region were ready to form an anti-sanctions block with the cooperation of international allies.
Moncada traveled to Iran to attend the inauguration on Thursday of new Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. He has since met officials and attended several meetings.
