General Mohammad Salehi said on Saturday that Khuzestan's Security Police became aware of delivering an arms and ammunition shipment to the province through intelligence and technical operations.
In a joint mission with borders guards, he said, the Security Police located the traffickers through careful monitoring of the region.
Then, according to Salehi, they arrested a member of members of the trafficking group and could identify two others and arrest them.
When inspecting the trafficker's car and their house, the forces discovered 11 Kalashnikov rifles and 8,500 bullets.
The traffickers have been charged and delivered to the Judiciary.
