The group of Iranian fishermen released following the diplomatic efforts of Iranian mission in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province in southern Pakistan left for Tehran from Karachi airport.
Iranian Consul General in Karachi Hassan Nourian in a tweet said: With continuous and worthy efforts of the Consulate General Iran in Karachi, in order to protect the rights of Iranians abroad, three Iranian fishermen were released from prison in Karachi, Pakistan, and returned to our beloved country by Iran Air.
The released fishermen were detained by Pakistan Coast Guards on charges of entering into Pakistani waters illegally.
Also last year, over 60 Iranian nationals detained in Sindh prisons in southern Pakistan were released and returned to their homeland.
