Tehran, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh, in response to the US denial that there was an agreement on prisoner exchange with Iran, said on Sunday that Iran had an agreement in place with the US and the UK and was ready to implement it "TODAY".

Khatibzadeh got back to US State Department spokesman for his use of the term ‘outrageous’ to refer to Iran’s Foreign Ministry official statements on nuclear talks and prisoners swap agreement.

Khatibzadeh wrote on his twitter account:

“Outrageous”=the US denying simple fact that “there IS an agreed deal on the matter of the detainees.” Even on how to announce it.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said yesterday that Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s statements on ongoing nuclear talks in Vienna were ‘outrageous’ efforts to deflect blame for the current impasse in talks.

Araghchi wrote in his twitter account that the talks must wait until the new administration in Iran takes office, but that prisoner exchange could take place if the US and the UK stopped linking the issue with the nuclear talks.

However, Khatibzadeh firmly underlined “Humanitarian swap was agreed with US & UK in Vienna-separate from JCPOA- on release of 10 prisoners on all sides."

He also emphasized that Iran was ready to proceed with the deal ‘TODAY’.
