Islamabad, IRNA – Leading Pakistani newspaper welcoming the statement of Iran’s President-elect Ebrahim Raisi in reducing tensions with Saudi Arabia urges the western countries to fulfill their commitments towards Iran nuclear deal.

Daily ‘Dawn’ in its editorial comments strongly condemned the accusations and aggressive positions of Tel Aviv, including the outrageous remarks of the new Israeli prime minister against Iran and the future government.

It said the victory of Ebrahim Raisi in the 13th r presidential election signaled that the people of Iran wanted Raisi to come into power and save them from economic problems.

It added Raisi has close relations with the ruling institution and good coordination between the government and other institutions is expected during his tenure.

Dawn said Raisi has also said he is ready for peace with Saudi Arabia, which is welcome. Meanwhile, spoilers must be kept at bay.

The paper noted the West should take the necessary steps to implement the JCPOA and ensure that Tehran starts to benefit economically from it

The Pakistani newspaper said as the Western sanctions have targeted Iran's economy, it is expected that new President will consciously move forward in foreign policy matters.

It said though Western media has made many remarks about Iranian democracy but the fact is that Iran still has a more functional democracy compared to many of its neighbours, including Arab absolute monarchies and presidents-for-life.

Iran’s President elect Ebrahim Raisi in a press conference with local and foreign media said our nation has shown resistance to pressure and the world should know that our government's foreign policy is not limited to the JCPOA.

Referring to the Vienna talks to revive the JCPOA he said any talks in which national interests are guaranteed will be supported, but we will not allow nuclear negotiations for the sake of negotiations.
