Moscow, June 17, IRNA – Permanent Representative of Russia to the International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov has said that his country welcomes the use of a Swiss humanitarian channel to facilitate trade with Iran.

He made the remarks in his official Twitter account in reaction to a user who has referred to a Reuters report which said US President Joe Biden has voiced support for speeding up approval of the financial transfers needed to deliver more food and medicines to Iran through the Swiss channel.

Ulyanov expressed hope that the Swiss channel, which is now useful, will become redundant soon.

If the Vienna Talks achieve positive outcome, Iran will be able to use its money in accordance with its own will using regular channels as a result of sanctions lifting, he said.
