Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif wrote in a Twitter message that he had had “productive consultations” with the Armenian prime minister and foreign minister.

Zarif wrote that he had "productive consultations with Armenian PM and FM", and "reviewed common regional challenges & opportunities following the recent conflict.”

He added that they had “agreed on further strengthening bilateral ties & regional cooperation – [including] on connectivity projects: turning old rivalries into future synergies.”

Prior to his visit to Armenia, the Iranian foreign minister visited Baku, Azerbaijan, and Moscow. After Armenia, Zarif will follow his regional tour by flying to Georgia and Turkey.

Foreign Minister Zarif started a regional tour to Russia, Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia in a bid to boost friendship and economic cooperation in the new atmosphere of the world, following the departure of former US President Donald Trump from the White House.
