Tehran, July 31, IRNA – The Iranian government has approved the outlines of a bill on slashing four zeros from digits of national currency, according to government spokesman Ali Rabiei.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet session on Wednesday, Rabiei said that during today’s session the government agreed with removing four zeros from national currency.

A bill to cut four zeros off the Iranian rial was presented to the government by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) early January.

The CBI governor is scheduled to further elaborate on the matter.
